I used to do Poser about 10 years ago, but would like to get into Stable Diffusion XL. I'm wondering how I get it and is it free?

Yes, Stable Diffusion is Free. In Youtube you can seee many installation tutorials.

I am not a fan of AI images, but i like AI assisted images, now i do dabble in AI, after all it is a tool, so i know a bit about AI, but when i look at your images i wonder, is it truly just AI, or is it AI with say photoshop? as these seem too crisp and lacking in the amount of errors in the images. fantastic images.
No tienen ningún tipo de postproceso. Ejecuto Stable Diffusion en mi PC utilizando una tarjeta gráfica Nvidia RTX 3060 con 12 GB de VRAM. Esto me permite generar una imagen cada 9 segundos. Genero un montón de imágenes y escojo la mejor o una de las mejores. En algunos casos he llegado a descartar más de 100 imágenes, quedándome solamente con una.
I have a 3090, and am amazed at how many images it can throw out, i can totally understand why the world has taken the stance with not allowing the images to be copyrighted unless they have been altered by hand in some way, that being said, the image generation that you have been posting is very good, i like the style, not sure how DA treats people posting others AI images. i myself was against AI but have changed that thought, i, not totally onboard, but i see its advantages and disadvantages, sadly we will all lose our jobs one day to AI, especially when AI means Artificial intelligence, for now, it's definitely not intelligent... lol...
